SUMMARY:30 Veggies: Spaghetti Squash Casserole
DESCRIPTION:Whisking up Wellness is a class where you learn healthy eating tips to related to metabolic health and designed to assist with weight management. These classes are modeled off the Culinary Medicine Program at Stanford University and the American College of Lifestyle Medicine\, and are designed to present healthy food choices as delicious\, fast\, and inexpensive. This class will focus on nutrient dense but lower calorie foods designed to keep you full and satisified while supporting long-term weight management and chronic disease risk reduction. \nCelebrate seasonal produce in this hands-on cooking class featuring vegetables fresh from our SmartFarm! We’ll explore creative\, approachable ways to incorporate more plants into your meals while working toward the goal of eating 30 different vegetables each week. \nYou’ll learn how to add vegetables into dishes you already enjoy as well as how to build flavorful meals with produce taking center stage. We’ll share practical cooking tips\, simple preparation techniques\, and ideas for making fruits and vegetables both satisfying and delicious. \n\n\nEligibility \n\nOpen to participants ages 18+ or 16- and 17-year-olds if accompanied by an adult.\nNo prior cooking experience required unless otherwise noted.\nParticipants must be able to follow safety instructions and work independently or in a group setting.\n\nWhat to expect \n\nParticipants will be provided with all ingredients and appliances needed to prepare and cook a delicious\, complete meal.\nAt the end of the class\, all participants will enjoy their meal together and leave with a copy of the recipe to recreate at home.\nRecipes subject to accommodate seasonal availability and freshness.\n\nAttendance & Commitment \n\nParticipants are expected to arrive on time and remain for the full class.\nAdvance registration is required; walk-ins may not be accommodated.\nCancellation policies apply (please provide notice if you cannot attend). We will provide a refund if class is cancelled more than 24 hours before start time.\n\nHealth & Safety \n\nDo not attend if you are feeling unwell.\nParticipants must follow all kitchen safety and hygiene guidelines.\nClosed-toe shoes are required; long hair should be tied back.\nNo outside food and drinks please.\n\nAllergies & Dietary Needs \n\nWhile we make every effort to identify ingredients and avoid cross-contact\, our kitchen is not allergen-free.
