WHO WE ARE
Teaching Skills for Lifelong Wellness
The Shepherd’s Kitchen was created to address chronic disease, food insecurity, and health disparities through practical nutrition education and hands-on learning. By combining nutrition science with cooking skills, participants gain the knowledge and confidence to make healthier food choices for themselves and their families.
In partnership with Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital’s Smart Farm and Center for Health and Integrative Medicine, The Shepherd’s Kitchen provides an interactive space where patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and community members learn how to prepare nutritious, affordable meals that support long-term health and wellness.

Volunteer Opportunities
Are you looking for a way to make a tangible impact on community health while sharing a love for good food? The Shepherd’s Kitchen is looking for passionate volunteers to help us bridge the gap between clinical care and the dinner table! As we work to empower families and address food insecurity through hands-on nutrition education, your support is vital to making our classes a success.
Whether you’re a seasoned home cook or simply someone who believes that food is medicine, join us in transforming preventive care into a fun, interactive, and delicious experience for our patients, families, staff, and the broader community.
