Our Unique Farm-to-Table Connection
What sets The Shepherd’s Kitchen apart from traditional cooking schools is our direct partnership with the Smart Farm, located right on the Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital campus. This on-site farm allows us to offer a true farm-to-table experience—bringing fresh, seasonal produce straight from the soil into the kitchen.
Participants may:
- Cook with locally grown produce and herbs harvested just steps away
- Learn how sustainable agriculture supports personal and planetary health
- Participate in garden tours, harvesting workshops, and growing education
This collaboration deepens learning, enhances food access, and reconnects people to the source of their food in a meaningful, hands-on way.

Intentionally Designed Space
The Shepherd’s Kitchen is a modern, flexible environment built for both demonstration and hands-on learning.
